Only if the screen gets a hole in it.
There is very little gas in the tv's (the volume of a nickle) and the gas is inert (it doesn't react) so there is no real worry if it gets out.
Except the tv is toast.

It is conceivable that a plasma cell can leak. But if it does, the gas will be almost undetectable since there is so little gas inside. The gas is a plasma only when it is excited by electric current; at other times it is an inert, harmless gas. If the gas does leak out of a cell, that will be dead pixel.

If by gas, you mean plasma then no. If your television is leaking something it may be oil but not plasma, cuz plasma is really dangerous and is harnessed into good energy. Oil is used to keep everything well in place or something like that. So, if your TV is leaking anything it should be oil, so take it to the junkyard quick before it explodes.

Plasma displays do not leak or deplete gas. possibly you exceeded gas as you have been strolling by ability of your plasma television and that's what you smelled. how are you able to purpose? turn on your television, that often works superb for me. possibly you are able to help me with my liquid crystal demonstrate television; i think of all the liquid has evaporated from my liquid crystals. How do I reconstitute the LCDs? What do i take advantage of? How do I attempt to confirm if my television is now a dry crystal demonstrate?

Possibly, but you have to remember that the screen is made of many thousands of tiny diodes that contain minuscule amounts of gas. And the gas in there isn't harmful. There is a bigger risk on all new TVs with the materials that go into the circuit boards and chips than from the screen.

No. that's a myth by some salesmen and TFT LCD manufacturers. The gas between grid barrier rids and inside the phosphor chambers is a combination of neon and xenon and is not harmful to end-users. only by a long term exposure to factory workers.
