They are being observant and caring. It is usually meant as a compliment, so take it that way and chill.

What do you expect if your hair was shoulder length and now it is just one inch all over? It's a bit of a change isn't it. Is the wow comment out of shock or cos they like it? I think as a female you really need a certain shaped face to carry off really short hair. Anyway the only really important thing is if you like it. just take it as a compliment that they notice you

Often, yes they arent very clever and think you may have forgotten!
Really though, you get your hair cut to look nice, and its nice to have people notice and appreciate the time and effort that you went to to look nice. So people say, 'your new haircut looks nice'. If it doesnt look nice, they still want to appreciate your effort, but dont want to lie, so instead of saying 'your hair looks crap' they say 'you've had your hair cut!' instead, so as not to hurt your feelings.
Maybe.... or maybe they are just thick.

It's just that the person has noticed a change... Change is something that humans ALWAYS notice... It's not a bad thing... Actually, you should take it as a compliment... Since they actually noticed it, that means they pay attention to you...

probably coz you had a pretty drastic cut and it was a bit of a shock for people to see you with short hair when they are used to you with longer hair.

Because you don't realise it but it changes your appearance and people that know you well will notice something different and comment on it. We all get it, don't worry about it!

People see you a certain way for a while, get use to the way you look, then when you change, it takes time to re-adjust

i think they're just trying to say they noticed it...so that person with a haircut knows that they either hate it or love it!(and sometimes it does get annoying that happens to me too)when someone tells me i got a haircut,it makes me feel like people don't just see through me and that they know something's changed

I usually do it to show I noticed or cared cause sometimes womyn get mad when it hasn't been noticed or they feel as no one cared enough to tell them or comment on it. I never thought of it as bothersome...
