How do you tell someone they look like a lg watermelon in that skirt?

Suggest that they might look better in another skirt or outfit. If you are shopping together, bring something that is more suitable.

If she is going ready to go out and she asks while she is getting ready, suggest another outfit that is more in keeping with the event.

If you are already out, it is too late. Just avoid the topic of her clothing.

If you put it in normal wording, you can be pretty direct when telling someone an honest remark on somethings they dont wear good. I think most people appreciate an honest comment.

Most important: what would you like? Would you like your friend not to tell and let you wander off in that ugly skirt, or would you want her to tell? How would you like her to tell? What is your responsibility when someone tells you something like this in good meaning?

I think it would be rude not to tell - especially if the skirt really is making her look like a watermelon.
