The monkfish is the grossest thing I have ever laid eyes upon, but it known to be quite a delicacy. Emeril Lagasse calls it, "Poor man's lobster".

crab, lobster, and shrimps are not exactly pretty... but most people would say they are tasty.
the most disgusting looking thing that is somewhat commonly consumed by people that i know of is iguanas.
