I had an 03 eclipse, they are nice. I would recommend going that direction. They are nicer than neons, and it wont cost near as much to "pimp" it out.

buy the '02 eclipse. better car all around. all the pimping in the world on the neon won't improve the performance to the eclipse standard.

get the 2002 eclipse! Unless you have the turbo charged neon, it's a car that nobody respects. The eclipse has always held a cool image.

Get the Eclipse its sooo much better than the neon...the neon is cool and everything just the eclipse produces more power and is sooo much niceer than the neon.

just buy the Eclipse, dont even bother with the Neon since it's so ugly, it's like putting a Burberry shirt on a pig, in the end, it's still a pig.

Definately pimp your 1996 neon. Who knows, you could always find cool stuff for cheap at Wal-mart or K-mart to make your car look totally awesome and the way you want it. Don't waste your money on a car that's not new. You could always trade your car for another one.
