The few , the proud , the marines ! If you can make it thru marine boot camp , then you can call yourself a man . lots of guys and girls just wash out .

As a former active duty Marine I'm biased, but I truly believe they're the best of the best. Marines at entry level are better trained than any other service, and they have their best of the best as well (Rangers compared to SEALs and other special ops). I learned in Marine boot camp that everyone can do so much more (mentally and physically) than your mind believes. You can go much further than the point when your mind says its had enough. The Marines carry this to the extreme in everything they do. Uh-rah!

A dear friend of mine is a marine corp veteran and even though he saw no action, he served his country honorably during peacetime. Also from what I hear Marine corp training is no picnic so I give a lot of credit to him, particularly since he developed depression during his stint, but battled it naturally and finished his service. I have the greatest respect for all vets. I myself served in the Navy and have fond memories of my commanding officer who was a woman like myself. Lets pray for our troops in Iraq that they come home soon as heroes.

my thoughts are that they are the most important part of the military, cause after the air force dominates the air, and the navy dominates the sea, the marines are the ones to takeover the lands of the enemy. I also agree that they are given not the best equipment that is available. if our government would spend more on our military, more troops would remain alive, it would give the marines an advantage on the field, and wars can be won swiftlyier without as many deaths to our own troops. honestly we should be the most advanced military out there, but we need more spending to the military, to make them more advanced.

They are usually the hottest in the military! There's something sexy about how they're so ready to jump into action and do whatever they do. Granted, all military people deserve respect and admiration...but there's just something about the marines for a lot of girls!

oooh rah they are sexy and hard workers! best out there. the few the proud the marines. u can say "im in the navy" "im in the army" "im in the airforce" marines say "i am a marine" not "im in the marines"
