I am about to make some chocolate covered strawberries but I have a question about melting the chocolate. What setting should i use on the stove so that it doesnt stick to the bottom of the pot? I don't have a double boiler (w/e that is)...Whats the longest time to leave the chocolate in the pot w/out burning it? Thanks in advance for the help

Generally, a double boiler consists of two pans; the lower pan, in which water is placed to simmer, and the upper pan, into which goes the food. Remember to use them on gentle-to-moderate heat.

You can create a makeshift double boiler by placing a smaller pan (for the food) inside a larger one (for the water), and elevating it with a trivet of some sort.

Its the best way to melt chocolate. Sound good! if you still cant figure it out, I'd say Medium Low, so its just barely liquid, and will set quickly.

I always use a double boiler. If you do not have one just put a small pot into a larger one. Be sure that the water touches the bottom of the smaller pot. Be sure and keep stirring gently until almost all of the chocolate is melted. Usually the remaining heat of the chocolate will melt the remaining bits.

Good luck.

under no circumstances upload water to melted chocolate because it's going to make it bypass gluggy and ineffective. you may even if soften it with water and sugar to make it right into a sauce, often made with the addition of cream too. to keep chocolate runny without actual making a sauce you may want to upload somewhat cream or milk , diverse effects counting on what you take advantage of. Cream will agency up somewhat yet not set problematical, milk will make it somewhat runnier and it wont truly agency up in any respect. upload both gradually until eventually u locate the wanted consistency, remembering that it will be somewhat more impregnable as quickly because it really is chilly. Oil would also be used yet i don't believe of i'd pick to placed that many extra energy into chocolate. the acceptable result will be shinier although if it really is what you'll desire. yet another idea will be to operate somewhat liquer if the chocolate is for adults if you're only that signifies that it units problematical previously you get a probability to placed it on the cake or icecream and also you pick it to bypass problematical as quickly because it really is on, then you merely pick to keep the chocolate warmth once you're utilising it. amazing thanks to attempt it really is to face the bowl of melted chocolate in a bowl of truly warm water, take care now to not splash any water into the chocolate although

take a regular pan...put about 1/2 with water..let that boil...put a bowl that is larger than the top of the pan on it...put your chocolate in that....it wont burn that way...stir til dissolved..or put some chocolate in a microwave safe bowl and nuke it for about 30 second increments...stir after each time...it wont look like the chocolate is melted at first...but it will...good luck
