This is the age old question which internet chatting created. By the way, it is the same for both men AND women. There are a lot of good answers here. Taken together, they have pretty much covered the major points. That being said, if you are careful enough to get to know the ones you will meet for a while before you do that, and make SURE you meet them in a public place AND have a cell phone with you, for safety. You could just get lucky! Some people actually are the same person when you meet them in person as they were on the computer. I know, I have met quite a few like that. Sometimes it is simpy a matter of the chemistry not being the same in person. Appearances DO count with regards to attractivness in both directions. As much as we would like to believe that is not true, it still is. Life is good. Drink it up!

Same thing can be said about women you meet in person.

I guess everyone, men/women, are sometimes just not the same in person in real as online. I have met "some" ppl online and this was the case, even met some that were better in person than on-line.

The internet is a great place to have a secret identity for w/e purpose you need or want. Why should you be yourself, if you don'r have to.

Men play by the rules. They say things we want to hear. I doubt all women online are nice online and nice inperson. Every seems to be one way then are totally different. Its a computer, they are just typing a bunch of words. It's not true stuff. Meeting people on the internet in my opinion is dumb.

Most guys in general are a**holes. When online it makes it easier to act like a good guy cause they have time to think about what is the best way to talk to a girl instead of having to act everything out in real time.

Are all the men you meet like that? If thats the case, you may want to consider cutting back on the online dating. Are you sure you aren't misinterrepting things?

BTW what's your definition of @**holes?

This is one of the risks you take by meeting people online. It's ridiculous how many of you people do this all the time, it is dangerous. Him turning out to be an A**HOLE is the least of the problem, he could have been a serial killer or something.

On line one can be what ever they want to be. Its easy to pretend to be what you aren't behind a computer screen, but never so easy to do that in person.

Its best you find out early if this is the case so you don't waste too much time on someone who isn't real.

Meeting people on line can be a very positive thing, but unfortunately there are many who use it and abuse it. Be careful and stay true to yourself.

Idk, i would be nice i think, i might be nervous about it but i am generally a nice guy and i'm a old head on young shoulders. If i where to meet my bestest friend on here I'd be shy, but i would want to have a great time with her as like you don't know how long it would next be until you see her again. Sorry you have that problem!

I apologize for being such an insufferable @sshole.
I cannot do anything to change what I am.
Us men really wish that you women could be @ssholes too.
It's really pretty easy to do.
Just think about only yourself, all the time.

...wait a minute... that might make you unpleasant to be with...
Oooohhh.. NOW I understand!

Hmmm...How do you tolerate us guys, anyway??

B/c online they are looking for one thing only, and it isn't a companion.

I hate it when they message you and do the BUZZ thing after they just said hi (like i didn't see the message pop up on the screen), and then won't talk to you.
