I have a one week old possibly fertile chicken egg I've been incubating since June 24, the due date it'll possibly hatch on is July 14th. But what I want to know is what are the chances of the egg possibly hatching if I'm not at home on July 14th?

I really want to know this because I'm hoping I'll be at home if it starts hatching incase the chick may have a problem, so what are the chances of this egg possibly hatching if I'm not at home?

I have checked it with a flash light, its dark with lines in it. Also when I put my ear on it today I heard what seemed to be movement and a heart beating.

same as if you were home you have nothing to do with it if it is going to hatch it will hatch but don't give up if it doesn't hatch when you think it should sometimes it takes a couple extra days but no more than two just be sure there is warmth in egg area once hatch it will be fine

When the chick hatches it cant go more than 48 hours withought food or water

If youll be gone at least leave a dish of water and and some chicken feed. put a clean washed dime or marble in the water to stimulate them to drink.

Best Of Luck Joe

If it hatches when you are gone it will be fine.
My chickens hatch out eggs all the time and I am mostly not there for it.
They have been doing it for thousands of years with out help.

Find a chicken sitter.
Are you sure it has a chick inside? Hold it to a light, you'll see it by now. You may be sitting on a rotten egg. Erraaah, I didn't mean that literally. Are you?
