Learn from any mistakes, but don't let those mistakes run your life. She's a new person.
Simply check to make sure you're not being attracted to the spittin' image of your x. If you are, move on.
Otherwise, forget the past and start over. Just don't make the same mistake. But don't dwell on not making the same mistake or it will probably happen again.
In other words, don't punish this girl for what has happened in your past, it's unfair.

First thing to do is get over the other relationship. I assume when you say "act on your feelings" you mean you want to get intimate with your new girlfriend but afraid you will not be able to.
Well best thing to do is sit down with your new girlfriend and talk this through. Let her help you through this. She will love you even more if you trust her with this. If you feel two embarrassed to talk to her about this then do not proceed any further with that relationship. If you do you will only hurt her. She deserves more than that...right?

First, understand that each individual is unique, and therefore all experiences with that person will also be unique. If you have feelings for her, please act on them. You don't know if you don't try...and if you get hurt, so what? We're all more durable than we think we are, pain is part of life. Pain helps us grow as people. And remember, the saddest words ever spoken were these ..."what might have been"

Just try to forget your previous girlfriend and the bad stuff that happened. You should always show you're emotions and talk about it too. If you really like her then just go for it, don't think so much.

you have to let go of the past she is completely different and you need to just trust your feelings. Don't go to fast. If you bring all that junk into a new relationship it will be over before it begins. GIVE IT A CHANCE.

tell her about your previous relationship so she can be aware of it. Try your best not to take things out on her. Show her how much u like her by buying her flowers, taking her out, and just telling her how much u like her will help too.

You could seek out a sex therapist in your area who could help you with the problem. They would be a little more in tune to your problem than a regular psychologist or counselor but they would also be able to help you.
