Most Muslim countries don't allow women to rule. They base their practice on a prophetical statement told by prophet Muhammed that says "people who are ruled by a woman will never succeed". This statement is narrated by many scholars, including [Bukhary 6570/4073, Tarmazy 2188, Nasai'ee 5293) and others.

However, I notice that all the above statements contradict reality where we have seen many nations who have developed under the ruling of a woman, including UK, Germany, Sweden, India...etc.

Is there any other interpretation for those statements other than what they mean?

That is a misconception. Again referring to the Arabic version of Hadith, you will prove it is there, but in the Urdu and English version, its not. OK, lets go along with you, and accept what you say, but remember all that was written in those days of the Prophet, its not in the Holy Quran to make it a hard and fast rule. Women during those days, were not so learned and advanced as of now, they are more capable now, of doing anything a man would do. Allah has not stopped us from PROGRESS. In fact it says in the Holy Quran, "I have sent this book for all, the learned must read, think, and do what is required in the best knowledge of interest" There are many who blindly do things for instance, fighting and killing in the name of Jihad. God has never told Muslims to do this, instead he has told Prophet Mohammad, you have done your duty leading them on the right path, now its up to them if they want to or not. George Bernard Shaw has quoted on Islam being the best religion, who has the worst followers.

Generally speaking, women are more emotional, go through monthly cycles, pregnancy and other natural events that change their emotions. Men, generally speaking are more logical under most situations. Although you will see visa-versa, most fall under this category not just under normal circumstance, but during extreme events. I mean, just imagine if condalezza rice was president, we'll all be dead. Some men are like this, but rules are applied to the general, and there are always exceptions. Those examples of those governments, it is not the woman that rules completely, it is the parliament, congress, senate and so forth that are mostly men and must approve actions of the supposed leader. Instead of action on logical wisdom, a woman may try to use her female position and be swayed by other men; as is true with men also, but generally speaking. Even women must agree, they know themselves and each other better than most men. Jealousy will cause wars, backbiting, and generally speaking, men are the leaders of their own households which are also societies on a micro level.

In the muslim mind a woman is a commodity just like a carpet, dog, camel, or horse. On a rare occasion, I expect, a woman can be prized above a horse or camel. I am aware of what the Q says about all this....but just like the NASKH principal over rules all co-operation with infidels..... there will be interpretation of expedience regarding females.

I do not agree at all with Ismael B.

History has shown that matriarchial societies are much more developed & peaceful than patriarchial societies. The more patriarchial the society, the more aggressive it is. (Check up on most societies in the Gulf).
In fact women make better CEOs as they believe in participative management.

I cannot imagine Hiroshima & Nagasaki happening under a lady prime minister, nor the holocaust happening under a lady German leader.
