Czechoslovakia split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia on January 1, 1993. Czech Republic is the western half of the former country of Czechoslovakia and Slovakia is the eastern half of the former country of Czechoslovakia.
Czechoslovakia was located at the south eastern border of Germany, south of Poland and north of Hungary.
