If your hosting a 50th.....have fun and save the cooking for someone else....go to Costco or Sam's club and buy 5lb containers of potato salad....and sandwich rings....in the long run you will save money....and maybe even get to enjoy the party....PS if you do decide to make Guacamole like another eader suggested ....make sure after you make fresh Guacamole you leave the pit in the the dip....if you don't it will turn a very unappetizing grey color...
and also here is a crockpot recipe that is very yummy fast and people love it.....

BUFFALO CHICKEN DIP

2
cans of canned chicken breast
1 16oz tub of sour cream
1 bottle of tabasco sauce(yes the whole bottle)
2 8oz pks of cream cheese
2 or more cups of shredded mexican cheese (in cheese section of supermarket)

dump every thing in crock pot
and enjoy while hot with tortilla chips
you can add more heat w/ crushed red pepper.
Have Fun!!

Tomato, macaroni cheese is nice.
Cook you macaroni as per packet instructions.
Melt tbsp of butter in pan and then remove from heat. Add tbsp of flour and mix well and then add tsp of mustard (dried or paste). put back on the heat and add tin of cream of tomato soup, little bit at a time making sure you blend it all in really well each time. Fill the can with milk (or single cream to make it deliciously rich) and then add that, a bit at a time. Add loads of grated cheese (depends on personal taste).
Drain the pasta and mix with the sauce then pop it in a oven proof dish, sprinkle with loads of cheese and bake on gas mark 5 until the cheese is brown and bubbly.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool then cut into rounds with a pastry cutter.
You could also try potato salad, coleslaw (plain or chilli - just add few tsps of chilli powder), and of course of the normal sausage rolls, vol-au-vents, scotch eggs etc.

Chicken salad

3 12.5 oz cans chicken
1 can crushed pineapple
20 red seedless grapes cut in 4ths
2 oz almonds toasted lightly in oven
1 stalk celery chopped
1 16oz poppy seed dressing

Combine all ingredients. Better if done the night before so flavors combine. This is great on its own or as sandwich esp. on croissants.
