It varies by vet, but generally between $50.00 and $75.00 to furnish and implant the chip and the office visit.
Just be sure it is the Euro chip, all that means is it has 10 digits, the Euro chip has a series of 9 numbers with the last digit being the letter A (for AVID, they make the Euro chip) Example: 123456789A
Chips with only 9 digits will NOT qualify.
But the chips are the easiest thing involved with shipping a dog to Europe.
It takes a good 6 of 7 months to get all the paperwork and bloodwork required to get the dog into Europe, unless you are already in a European country.
And that is AFTER it has had a microchip implanted and a rabies shot at 3 or 4 months of age.
If anyone is telling you it takes less time they are incorrect (well, unless you want the puppy to spend the 6 or 7 months in quarantine in Europe)
There is also a very limited amount of airports that will allow live animals from the US to land.
There are rules, shots, test, and paperwork out the wazoo to get a dog ready to ship to Europe.

cost should be 40ish (give or take) BUT be sure the vet is aware that you are traveling to Europe and use a chip that can be read universally... most US chips are not read by the European scanners. (Home again is good)

ALOT depends on WHERE in Europe you are going when it comes to prelim planning... I am in Spain and the only thing required is a Chip and a rabies shot! NO quarantine etc...
