I call my cat Bean as in beans for brains. He's been known to sleep in the sink with the faucet dripping!!!
His brother Lyonel was named by my daughter after a Thundercat
His Mom's name is Blackie, She came to us when the children were VERY young.
Stray barn cat that wandered in and captured my boyfriend was named Miss Kitty. It's not original but you can't expect a lot from a man who is first owned by a cat at 41.

Sophia (Loren) was my longest living cat, a very good mother.

Cats have three names:

1. The name you give them.
2. Their real name.
3. A secret name only the cat knows.

This is from the movie 'Logan's Run'.

My first cat was already named when I adopted him. His name is Barney.

A few months later, I then adopted a female cat. She was named Patches, but I didn't like that name, so I changed her name to Betty.

I just started calling her that all the time and it wasn't long before she started responding to her new name. Now I have Barney and Betty

When we got our cats, they already had names (Ebon, Awny, Bach, and Ghost), so we use them for the most part. However, I do often call Bach, the older male, Sir. (My wife doesn't.) If we had had the chance to name a cat, a male cat would have been named "The Lord". That way, when people praise the Lord, I can say that my cat appreciates that. :-)

We have a grey male that eats everything including bread through the bag so we named him Pumba after the warthog in The Lion King . We then took in a young stray female tiger who from the moment she came in the house acted like a princess so my daughter named her Nala after the lioness in The Lion King. My daughter is five and we have 4 pets total the other are 2 dogs. Our white boxer is named Luna after the moon in Bear and the Big Blue House and our Black and White Husky who has blue eyes is named Jasmine after the princess in Aladdin. We have the Disney clan in our home as named by our daughter.

Timothy Jay Katt (aka Timm Katt, Timmy, Bones, Hairball.)

Andreas Linus Fuzzy-Face (aka Andy, Andy Kitty, Door Stop, Fuzz Ball, Brown Fuzzy Bowling Ball, and more recently, "The Rug" )

Angel-Leah Lucy Fuzzy-Face (aka Angel, Angel Kitty, Devil, Devil Kitty, Snowball, Large Lump of White Fur.)

Hummm...the oldest one has the least nicknames!

Timmy's the TimmKatt because I looked at him when he was 2 days old (he was born inmy mom's closet) and noticed his "Tom Cat parts" and decided that since he wasn't going to grow into a Tom Cat, Tim was a "softer" name. Jay was because I had an annoying co-worker who went by Jay, and five week old kittens can be pretty annoying when one is trying to sleep.

Angel and Andy I named when the vet tech described them to me over the phone. We got to Angel-Leah because of Richard Marx's song Angelia, and I wanted to put the accent a little different. Andy, because of a cat in my dream named Andy when I was about 6; Andreas because it's the German form of Andrew and I love the way it sounds, but I don't think I'd like to name an American kid that. Linus because my friend said Andy looked like a Linus, and Lucy because of course Lucy goes with Linus.

The various nicknames over the years...well, most are pretty obvious!
