There are no pet stores around where I live. And I kind of wouldn't like to pay more than 50 dollars for it.

When I say adopt it means that I don't want to go through a humane society where you have to sign papers and they can take it away if you miss like one vet appointment. I would rather just buy one from a privet person/

Well, the first and most obvious choice would be a pet shop local to your area. Even if they don't have the bird you want or the right aged bird, they may have hookups with others that breed birds or with others that sell locally or nationally.

Another choice would be your local newspaper classifieds, they may have the bird you want.

An online choice would be Craigslist, as they have a section for pets and they might have a local section for your area.

You may also want to check several local yahoo groups or the like for people interested in birds. People who raise birds and have birds as their hobby will typically be in the know for how to get in touch with what you are looking for.

I hope that this helps.

What do you mean you want a bird but don't want to adopt a bird? (confused)

Search online to find breeders of that specific kind of bird.

Pet shops may sell birds but you don't know the quality of breeder or how well it was socialized. Not my first choice.

Also consider going to shows and/or general pet Expos.
