If I had a choice, I'd say cider. I started drinking the stuff when I was a teenager and I've always been quite fond of it. I find it very refreshing in this summer heat. However, like most alcoholic beverages, I always drink the stuff in moderation. A little of what you fancy does you no harm at all.

When worked in a bar some of the 'shall we say aged, more experienced drinkers' (for this picture, old alcoholics!) Switched from 4+ ciders a days to 4+ Lagers a day and within a month there was an improvement in there weight and skin tone.
(R.I.P. Shaun, who didn't make the switch and died 3yrs later)
I also noticed that in order to keep up the life style and stay alive the older drinkers (50's and 60's) then often switched to beer.

But I must add this is no way to live and has put me off drinking alcohol completely.

Hope this helps decide, basically Lager has less harmful chemicals added and Beer is better still although I think Vodka is the purest and it's my drink of choice.

Why not both? in the same glass even. And does anyone else know this mix of cider and lager as a snakebite?

Cider.

Its actually got few if any calories whereas beer does.Thats why Jockeys tend to drink cider as it doesnt effect their weightwhen they are racing.

Also the yeast in the beer reacts with my stomach and makes me ill so I tend to stay on cider for that reason.
