Like aliens? Yes i think there could b intelligent life on other planets but they still wouldnt b a "higher power", just a different life form. I dont believe in God or anyone control the universe from a little room in the sky!

I am an athiest (I prefer the word realist, it fits better and is more concise) and no I do not beleive in any higher power. If, as you say, there are aliens interacting with us they would still not be a higher power. More advance possibly but would that make them a god? I think not.

If you say higher power, but not god, and that they are more advanced, then you may mean aliens. I don't have proof of their existence, so I don't believe, but am not strongly opposed to a more advanced species. Evolution happened on earth, so it could have happened on other planets. Some even say we evolved from micro-organisms dropped off by a meteor, this is extraterrestrial origin. The idea is not out of the question, but I don't have enough reason to believe it. There could be beings in other dimensions, etc. There are many theories, and I have some of my own. But I need more proof to say yes to your question.

You have asked three questions.

1. I am agnostic and therefore I have my doubts about the 'Higher Power'

2. Yes, I do believe there are other intelligent beings in the universe.

3. No, I don't believe we have met any aliens either accidental or on purpose.

Hey Fanmail, that's awfully disappointing, not all of us do that. I considered myself (until recently) to be an Atheist. It was pointed out to me that I am in fact agnostic. I do not believe or disbelieve as there is no evidence to support either claim. It is impossible to prove that God exists and therefore also impossible to prove that he does not exist. I do not reject the possibility of either. It is also possible that there are beings more advanced and older than us in the universe, but I don't suspect there is any interaction as there is no tangible proof of it.

Like aliens? Yes, I believe that there is life in other areas of the universe. And yes, it's possible that they are older and more advanced than us. I don't however have any reason to believe that they interact with us.

Since the Atheist always answer the Theist questions, I'm going to Chime in here. HELL no, they don't believe anything is more powerful than themselves. They all come from broken dysfunctional alcoholic families, and have never figured out why God made their parents such dead beat morons. So instead of searching for answers they sit here and bash Theist, because they are lonely, intimidated worthless lost souls.

I believe in being skeptical regarding claims which are not supported by sufficient evidence, and extraordinary claims, require extraordinary evidence. (Think of this as the opposite of credulity.)

I am not aware of any extraordinary (or even ordinary evidence) for the extraordinary claim that there are "beings more advanced and older in the universe"

As for a higher power, that is a nebulous concept. Nature is a higher power than me. But I don't hold nature as a supernatural being.

thanks for asking.

No, the higher power is within the minds of all of us, and is there for those who wish to reach it. No need to invent a God to explain the natural phenomenon of higher power.
