Now that all the stores are mega-sized, with low paid sales clerks who are impossible to find, and don't know anything anyway, people feel the need to open stuff up before they buy it. However, for that same reason, no one will buy it if the package has been opened.
So that is why the put it in the impossible to open plastic container so you have to wait until you are home. After opening it, you are to frustrated and exhausted from the ordeal to return to the mall t o return the product.
(What I really find annoying is when I stop for food after shopping, and I want to play with my new toys, and have to wait till I get home.)

If the world were perfect like God made it, items wouldn't even have to be packaged, they could just sit in the open and people put items in their buggies, not in their purses, and no one would ever steal. Buy the way, get yourself a pair of heavy duty scissors and at least cut around two sides before trying to squeeze your hand in the top and almost scratch yourself.

Containers that are easier to open are also easier to steal from . Expensive items tend to be put in very hard to open packaging so that store theft is kept to a minimum.

Certain items are packaged like this to prevent theft. Unfortunately, it makes it hard on the "honest" consumer, too! Just look at it like this....it helps keep the prices down.

that's decrease priced; it prevents pilfering, and it develop's scientific expert's earnings for all of the stitches that are mandatory at cases. As for the knife, i might ask for replace, till you have been employing 22 oz.. hammer to tension blade into packaging; notably valuable, whether risky ( and puzzling on knife)

For the same reason they are banning swings and jungle gyms on children's playgrounds... and to keep idiots like my ex from opening half the stuff in the walmart and leaving it back on the shelf opened

exactly! They are harder to open so thieves have a harder time getting into them and stealing what is inside. If we could stop theft prices would go down... but some people are jacka**es and would rather cause everyone problems.

I don't know but are they not some of the most aggravating things around? By the time you get them open, your joy in what you purchased is overshadowed by annoyance. They should be more recyclable...we don't need more garbage taking up space.

plastic is really cheap to mass produce and keeps things preserved and more sterile than cardboard.

I agree. Down with child proof packaging for non-child proof stuff.
