She is about two, this is her first litter. Yes, I procrastonated on getting her fixed because of finace problems, I was wrong. I am worried about her, she is a tiny cat. Also, how do you know when she is in labor? I dont want my other cat or my dog to hurt the babies so I would like to get her to a remote place before she does have them. She is due in about a week, she was out only half a day so I know she got pregnant on the 9th of May.

She'll be fine. Make sure she has a place she thinks is safe: A box she can go to that's away from other animals, and plenty of food & water. Cats have been giving birth unassisted for millions of years, she'll be fine.
We usually had a box in the bathroom with a towel in it, and plenty of food and water for her nearby. The cat could go in, but barricaded the door to make sure the dog couldn't get in there, later on the dog started protecting the babies like they were hers, but you never know what other animals are going to do.

Though the cat will have her babies wherever she thinks is safe. Despite my Grandfather's best efforts in setting up a box for her, she jumped in his lap and had them there. That was funny: "AAAH! Julia! She's having her KEEEETINS!"

Sometimes they don't live past their first two days, or if its a big litter one or two could die. Just so you're prepared. This is normal, especially for small cats.

cats are isolated animals. they will take care of themselves. she needs a place that is enclosed and isolated from everything else. this needs to be a comfortable place. i know this because i have had 3 female cats give birth in my house. i used a carboard box with a hole in for her to crawl through and a towel on the bottom of the box. get her used to the box now and she will use it. you can tell if she is in labour if she seems to be panting constantly and if she contracts (yes they are noticible). get her to her box right away and hope she stays there. dont force her or it will not help. keep away from her for several hours (and other animals etc b/c these will be a threat to her). you can check in on her but refrain from touching any kittens intill she has licked them dry. otherwise your scent will overwhelm her scent on the kittens and she might reject them. so touch them the least as possible. she will be fine. dont worry. keep other animals away from her and her kittens intil they are old enough to walk b/c she will attack "threatening" animals and might feel the need to move her kittens to a "safer" place. good luck!

Make sure you feed her kitten food during the pregnany and until the kittens are weaned to help her maintain her weight. If you can, bring her in the house to have her kittens. Animals are like humans when they are in labor. She will stop eating and try to find a spot away from everything. She will have contractions and pant while in labor. Keep a good eye on her and good luck!

just lots of love, food , and water. she instinctually will find a safe spot to birth- in a closet, under a bed, in a laundry basket, a crawl space, etc. your kitty will know what to do, it's amazing that they do even without experience. rest assured that she knows what to do when the time comes. it will be HER choice of where she wants the event to happen, so don't try to move her, even after the kittens are born. (she'll just waste precious energy carrying them back to HER spot, risking exposure to other pets.) you'll know she's in labor when you don't see her for awhile, and if you do find her, she'll be doing a lot licking. good luck! enjoy this litter- it is a miracle, birthing is, but get her spayed asap, there are so many sad homeless pet issues.
