A wedding is one day that a lot of women have been looking forward to for a very long time and they want it to be perfect. You get one shot and can spend a LOT of money on an event that lasts a few hours so of course that would stress anyone out. There are also a lot of emotions that go with planning something as special as a wedding as well as family factors that sometimes hinder a sane mind set during the planning process.

They don't exactly lose their minds. They just get overwhelmed trying to make everything perfect because they want the most important day of their lives to be remembered as perfect. In the end if no one even showed up to the ceremony there would still be the bride and the groom who are all that really matters. My suggestion, which i've discovered this as of late, just go with it. If it doesn't get done today then theres nothing you can do about it. Why waste your time worrying about it when you could be spending it sitting on the couch watching a movie and cuddling with the man that you intend to spend the rest of your life with. The man who thinks that you're perfect no matter what your wedding ends up like.

They don't have to. I didn't. I made up my mind that I just wouldn't because I didn't want to make life hell for everyone around me. I think a lot of them do because they are so caught up in making a perfect day that they forget that there are other people involved in the process. I think if they'd just realize that they have to deal with real people and real people can't make magic, they'd have a much better time. A wedding should be about the special people in your life rather than the perfect cake to match your dress and the perfect shade of lavender for the napkins to match the tablecloths.

I didn't lose my mind and I planned two weddings, mine and my brother's. He was stationed in Germany and needed help. Everyone says its a part time job to plan a wedding, that's bull. Planning a wedding is easy.

I think alot of times brides stress out because the don't plan as much as they should or they don't pick out the right vendors. You can't just pick your vendors out of the phone book. The best way to do it is on a referral basis. Also leaving lots of stuff to do at the last minute is a big one too!

Trust me. Grooms and their friends lose their minds too.
It always seems chaos/chaotic and stressful, making sure everything is perfect (the rings, cake, flowers, invites, etc.) down to the wire. But somehow, everything always works out at the end.
I've been to numerous weddings, and they're all the same way as I mentioned above.

It's a very important time in their life's. Everyone is expecting a dream wedding. This wedding has been dreamed by every little girl since she could remember. Why not try and make it memorable.

Because they want everything to be perfect. They feel as though the wedding is a reflection of them personally. They would rather do everything themselves rather than ask for help.

They want the day to go perfect and there is so much to do. When i got married I was still doing things the day of my wedding. It is craziness. That is why you hire a planner .

(1) They are trying to perfect something which has too many variables to ever be perfectible. (2) They feel pressured to create something grand, on a scale unrelated to the rest of their lives. Unfamiliarity is stressful. (3) They are poised between the clashing traditions, customs, and interests of their own family and that of the groom. (4) They are scared and exhausted.
