I've already read a previous post but I need to do something about it NOW! I think they went away for the day, but the puppy is out barking and won't shut up. I would like a humane method of treatment. Should I buy a bone and throw it over as a treat? I'm going insane!!! It's ruining my 4th of July holiday!!!! (no I'm not going to a BBQ).

I am on good terms with the neighbor, even though we don't talk often.

There is a device that can help you: on sale for $45. and $25.

Bark Smart and Bark Smart Deluxe.

It uses an ultrasonic tone triggered by the dog's barking. If you can't convince your neighbors to get one, I guess you'd have to place it on your property, nearest the source of the dog's annoyances so it would be effective.

See the links in the sources below:

Hey,good question.Ask the neighbors to please let your dog inside or get a muzzle. If they can't afford a muzzle insist on buying one for them.nly do that if it is really annoying.Or ask to have them get a shock collar or buy one for them.It might seem a little cruel but that dog seem like from what you have told me,it needs to have a little discipline.if it won't shutuo for atleast another hour, threaten to call the police but not 911.Call the police if they are out of town. That can be filed as a noise complaint.I hope my advice has helped.Goodluck.

I have heard of people giving a dog a little gummy orange slice. They chew and chew on it and it stopped the barking. I have never tried it though. When we had a dog keeping us up at night or being a nuisance, we just called the cops. :)

Talk with the neighbor. it is his ethical and legal responsibility to keep his dog under control. And if the dog still barks, call your local officials.

Sounds like it's lonely if no one is home. Wouldn't hurt to throw it a big bone or toy to keep it busy for awhile..

You can either do nothing about it and put earplugs in your ears, or (what I would do) play with the dog and give him toys or treats. Dogs are like humans, they need affection.
