Wild Horse Pinot Noir - Central Coast / Santa Barbara
Buena Vista Pinot Noir - Carneros

basically any 2003-04 Santa Barbara/ Santa Lucia Highlands/ Edna Valley/ Bien Nacido (bigger, darker, fuller body)
or
03-04 Carneros/Sonoma/Russian River (more upfront fruit, medium body, tart)

Oregon has some great PInot Noirs as well from Williamette Valley.

Good Luck~

There's a great Pinot Noir from an Oregon winery called Black Walnut (2004, I believe). I don't usually drink Pinot Noir but this one was delicious. It was around 18 dollars.

2000 Calera Central Coast Pinot Noir ($20)
Although producer Josh Jensen is best known for luxury-priced single-vineyard wines, he also makes this graceful, inexpensive Pinot from purchased Central Coast grapes, giving it the same treatment as his pricey Pinots: fermenting in open-top vats and long aging in French oak barrels.

2001 A To Z Willamette Valley ($19)
A to Z Wineworks is a partnership between two couples, the Hatchers and the Tannahills, with top-notch wine pedigrees (including Domaine Drouhin and Archery Summit). The partners act as négociants, buying grapes or wine. They certainly made the most of good ra materials when creating this ripe, juicy Pinot.

2003 Castle Rock Winery Mendocino County ($11)
Despite California Pinot Noir's skyrocketing popularity (and cost), Castle Rock owner Gregory Popovich was somehow able to buy high-quality, reasonably priced Pinot grapes from the cool vineyards of Mendocino. He gave them a deft touch of French-oak aging to produce this refined wine.

Try to find something from Oregon. Great Pinot and moderately priced as a rule.
