Well take a deep breath right now. You have to calm down! Your friend is wrong in telling people that is your buisness to tell not his. But you have to let go of this anger. I know it is hard but this could hinder your progress you need to tell him how you feel now so you can let go of this and move on. Tell him how you feel, and tell him to stop and that he should no better. Do that then i would stay away from him for a while. If you cannot avoid him then keep you distance. I Wish the best for you.

I'm sure your friend was only trying to help you, since he is also a recovered user. He knows that you need all the support you can get. If it offends you for him to tell anyone else, just tell him how you feel, and if he is truly your friend, he will respect your wishes. Talk about this in your meetings and get some feedback. I wish you all the luck in the world. I have never been into anything like that, but I supported my niece through it. She is now studying to be a counseler. It will be very hard, but you can do it. Anytime you feel angry, call your sponser. Best wishes and God bless you !!

This is no friend just a gossip if he knew the meaning of NA or AA it is the annonymous part and yes you are in charge of your OWN LIFE and he should be told to respect your wishes or disconnect. Do not let him take control of our anger keep focused you went for a reason keep that reason in the front find a new friend that you can really trust you can never trust this one ever

be up front and say that this is a personal and delicate issue that you alone would like to contend with. Honesty is the best policy. Don't be embarrased but simply state that you are on the road to finding yourself and when the time arises you will celebrate by sharing your personal life with others. Until such time, this is your private life. Good Luck!!

There are many of us addicts out there (recovering and not) and it makes all of us recovering addicts happy that someone else is on the road to recovery. When I first started going to meetings with the manager at my job, she told everyone that she took me to a meeting. I didn't like the idea of that at first. But now I have come to appreciate the support of my friends and co workers.
As an addict, (2 years clean) it feels good to me to know that someone is proud of my accomplishments. Your friend is just being proud of you that's all. Go easy on him.
And congratulations on trying to get your life back in order. The road to recovery is a bumpy one but just hold on and you'll make it.

You need to speak to him straight away. Speak to your sponsor or someone else in NA about it to go over how you will approach it. Anonymity is important for some people but remember you have no control over people places and things.
God bless and good luck.

Tell him to check tradition twelve:
ANONYMITY is the spiritual foundation of all our traditions, ever reminding us to place principles before personalities.
