Yes the bible promotes incest, it also promotes hatred among people who do not believe in the bible and people who do. It is not the good book it claims to be.

It doesn't PROMOTE it. Lot was drunk and he had just lost his wife. His daughters, being sneaky and disgusting and thinking that they would never find husbands, lay with their father. It was yucky and wrong and not something God would want them to do. But that was a bad choice they made. It was not Promoted as you say.
As for having a drink of alcohol? I think that it is okay to have a drink of alcohol. Jesus' first miracle was to make wine at a wedding. Why would he have made such great wine if he didn't want it to be enjoyed. That was a celebration where everyone was drinking together. I don't think Jesus wants us to drink alone and get drunk because that's not necessary or good for you. There is a limit and I believe God always wants us to have some physical control over our bodies and one cannot have that if they are drunk.

And yet, their children go on to become some of the nations that Israel considered evil. Why then would someone call this promoting incest? It's history, not promotion. Right, wrong, or indifferent, it happened this way.
Look at Leviticus 18, incest is expressly forbidden on all sides in multiple degrees in no uncertian terms.

Lot was not a prophet , he was an immature believer of GOD and spent his life giving into his weaknessess.
Abraham spent much time trying to help Lot, even to the point of freeing him from his kidnappers at one point. Lot just went back to the lifestyle that he was used to.
The story of Lot is in the bible to show us the outcome of not following the GOD that you believe in. You are not going to hell, as LOT did truely believe, but he was ruled and led by his earthly lifestyle, and did not want to go back out and live outside the comforts of the city life.
Once forced to flee for his life, while the city was destroyed, he became depressed and still did not turn to GOD , instead his daughters who were raised up in the evilness of the city, did not turn to the GOD who had just spared their lives, they took matters into their own hands and made a choice of impregnating themselves with their own father.
GOD did not endorse this , and no good came from it. The only lesson to be learned here, is if you believe and never actually walk with GOD, you will be led by worldly things, and never get to experience what GOD has in store for you.

"Genisis" incest is not what is considered incest today or in the time when the Mosaic law came into effect which condemned incest. The species had no other way to procreate and it was condoned for a temporary period of time while the human race blood line was undefiled and no risks were involved in grosteque abnormalites in the offspring.

The Bible doesn't promote incest and you know it.
That is a historical account of something that happened nothing more.
And beside that a little wine is good for the belly.

Had Lots daughters consulted God of the situation they perceived, I'm sure he would have given them other options - even they knew it not to be right or they wouldn't have had to have put their father into a drunken condition in order to sleep with him in hopes of conceiving a child.
The real problem is not that people read the Bible and draw conclusions - it is that people read the Bible without consulting God about its purpose and meaning and draw conclusions that are not of God.

Everything in the Bible has served a purpose. Once done, it is not recognized as legal any longer. Grow up.
No, Allah, another name for God, has never drunk anything. But Jesus drank wine and water. And he was the son of God. (You know God as Allah. Same God, Arabic name.)

Let' say it doesn't really not promote it. God doesn't stop Lot's daughters from getting their father drunk and herding his sheep in the cave. He can tell joseph in a dream not to divorce mary but he cant tell these two " hey it's ok, the whole world wasn't destroyed you don't need to do your old man to repopulate"???
and john the baptist's parents Abraham and Sarah were FIRST COUSINS whose union he "blessed".
hey a good fifteen states in this country allow first cousin marriage too..
