Yes, pour the briquets into your grill and shape them into a pyramid. This allows the fire to climb upward and you get a better fire. Also, use 'Match Light' brand charcoal. No need for that awful lighter fluid. Just pile it, light with a match and stand back. Burns cleanly and evenly.

leave the charcoal in the bag, if there is one. Then, light the bag on fire. Let it go. If you already have it out of the bag, lightly sprinkle lighter fluid over all the coals. Let it soak for a few minutes. Then use a match or lighter to start the coals. Be careful of the flame.

take 2 or 3 napkins, put some cooking oil to them (not too much) and shrink them as a balls, then put charcoal around , try to made a pyramid using the charcoal pieces give some room so it can takes air, ignite the napking and let it go, try to arrange the charcoal in a way it catches the fire.

Do you have the kind that you light the bag? If not just pile them up , kinda like a pyramid shape..put on a little lighter fluid and let it go... make sure that the coals have burning off the liquid or it will taste awful and be very unhealthy....also they have charcoal starters at places like Kmart...Good luck

Get some charcoal. Put some lighter fluid on it and then light it. Wait ten minutes to grill something.

You can buy fire starters from most hardware stores. Else burn a stack of newspaper in the charcoal pile.

it's easier if you stack the brickettes into a pyramid then douse it in lighter fluid, then you light it and the brickettes will flare up then heat, once they start to ash over you can spread out the brickettes so they heat evenly. Just don't use gas to light it...my roommate learned that when we were camping and she tried to blow up the barbeque.
