People are called Junior if they have the same name as their father so that others can separate the two. For example, Ronald Trusdale Sr. and Ronald Trusdale Jr. But one can also be called Junior as a nickname or if someone is the youngest in a group.
Being called Junior is usually not a derogatory comment unless the person saying wanted it to be a condescending title.

"junior" means that the person's father has the same name. It's not an insult , it's just a way to no mess up people's names.. Dad's name is John, kid's name is John.. they call the kid Junior.. so they know who's being talked too.

I never felt that calling someone Junior is an insult. When you call someone Junior it means he shares the same name as his father. and so to know the difference he is called junior after the name. Or it may also be used as a slang to address someone who is younger to you.

Like the son named after the father he is a Jr. Yes
But most elderly men call younger ones then them Jr. and don't have any relation to them, they call them that because the are the younger version of themselves per say, It is not an insult, society has just made it seem that way, unfortunately

If someone calls you "Junior" and you dont have the same first name as your dad, then the person calling you Junior is most likely calling attention to your age and/or lack of experience, with regards to the issue at hand (whatever you two were doing to make him call you Junior in the first place)..

Indiana Jones was insulted because that was all his father ever called him...
it may be derogatory if it pertains to being the younger or less important of the father/son duo... aka being called 'Little' Mike, for example
or it could mean you look like a midget version of your father...

There are sevral definintions to "junior". Some times people use it as a slangy way, like:
"Come here Junior!"
or
"Ya'll c'mere and see this Junior!"
Or it means if you are a junior like in a junior grade, like 4, 5, and 6. Usually 6 is the junior at athletic meets.
And lastly junior means like the small replica. Like Mini Mee, to Dr. Evil. He is a replcia of Dr. Evil, but in a mini way. So you can call him junir. Like if Bow Wow has a child that is a rapper as well, we call him/her Jr. Bow Wow.
Hope this helps!

if you are in a group and your making fun of someone by calling them junior then your making fun of them by saying that they are the youngest or shortest in the group. oy if your name was Scott and you named your son Scott then you can make your son Scott Junior since hes younger. and your Scott Senior. But you dont have to make it Senior you could keep it just Scott. there are different ways though. i just dont know them.

It means you are "rookie" or "wet behind the ears" or "green" like a banana before it matures/ripens, and turns yellow. Often used to indicate inexperience, or novice level, especially when one displays ignorance through arrogance.
