Quran 2:256
Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects Evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things.
The BIBLE:
(2 Thessalonians 2:3 NASB/WEY).
"Let no one in any way deceive you, for that day cannot come without the coming of the apostasy first, and the appearing of the man of sin, the son of perdition."
Deuteronomy 13:6-10:
If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which [is] as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers; [Namely], of the gods of the people which [are] round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the [one] end of the earth even unto the [other] end of the earth; Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him,

neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him: BUT THOU SHALT SURELY KILL HIM; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. And thou shalt STONE HIM WITH stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
(Joshua 6:20-21)
Joshua son of Nun wished to enter Palestine with his people. So he encamped around the city of Jericho and commanded the people to blow their horns. "As soon as the people heard the sound of the trumpet, the people raised a great shout, and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city. Then they utterly destroyed all in the city, both men and women, young and old, oxen, sheep, and asses, with the edge of the sword "

The New Testament is a book of love, but the God of the Old Testament doesn't seem to be the same one.
But the problem is not the Books (yours nor ours). The problem is the people who make the interpretations. And adapt those interpretations to fit their own goals. The people that start wars and massacres using the Quran or the Bible as justification.

The Bible is filled with hidden meanings and a backdrop of history that fills every page. Do NOT take the Bible out of context for that is one way in which Satan works his deeds. God is a god of Justice, also of Love, and Peace. In answer the Bible is a book of love but i might not say of world peace, more it is of individual peace and rest in the Lord. The Lord's love is shown in the NEW TESTAMENT or an old testament example is 1st Chronicles chapter 21 where it talks about how David sinned and God punished the people (David's choice of punishment out of three options) with a plague and they angel was stopped before the punishment was complete because of the Lord's grief because of all the death that came so he halted the angel and then it goes about how David further repented. In the new testament Jesus shows God's love most fully and his peace.

The Bible is a Book of Morality and Justice. Sometimes God has to do harsh things to harsh people. We really shouldn't be judging God...He knows more then we do and I don't question His holy judgement.

These things are actually happening today in the middle east by those that follow the teachings of the "Child Molester" Muhammed!
Jesus "Never" Sinned and He never taught anyone to sin.
There is no cutting off of innocent people's heads in the Christian community!
The cowards that kidnapped the two U. S. soldiers gouged out their eyes, cut off their heads, cut off their penises and stuck them into their mouths.
The prisoners at Abhu Garaib were made to be naked, and had dogs bark at them even though this was against U. S. policy!
Who's actions are Evil?

According to the Quran 2:256 as YOU have quoted: "Let there be no compulsion in religion".
But how can we harmonize the foregoing with the following texts commanding the use of force in religion?
“FIGHT for the cause of God against those who fight against you: KILL them wherever ye find them . . . FIGHT therefore against them until there be no more civil discord, and the only worship be that of God.”
“I will cast a dread into the hearts of the infidels. Strike off their heads then, and strike off from them every finger-tip.”
“Believers, WAGE war against such of the infidels as are YOUR neighbors, and let them find you rigorous.”
“And when the sacred months are passed, KILL those that join other gods with God WHEREVER ye find them; and seize them, BESIEGE them, and lay in wait for them with EVERY kind of ambush: but if they SHALL convert, and observe prayer, and PAY the obligatory alms, THEN let them go their way, for God is Gracious.”—Sura 2:186-190, 212, 213; 8:12; 9:5, 124; 47:4, Rodwell.
Indicative of the kind of reasoning used by Muslim commentators in endeavoring to harmonize these texts is that of Râzî’s comment on one of the foregoing: “‘Abstain from injuring them’—that is, leave it to God to punish them, either at your hands or by hell fire.”
"Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscience stupidity." Martin Luther King, Jr.
Is The Bible A Book Of Peace And Love? (I am sure you are familar with the "sermout on the Mount"? When Jesus the great Prophet taugh it in the Bible)
(John 13:34, 35) "I am giving YOU a new commandment, that YOU love one another; just as I have loved YOU, that YOU also love one another. 35 By this all will know that YOU are my disciples, if YOU have love among yourselves.”
(Matt. 5:38-42) "YOU heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye and tooth for tooth.’ 39 However, I say to YOU: Do not resist him that is wicked; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other also to him. 40 And if a person wants to go to court with you and get possession of your inner garment, let your outer garment also go to him; 41 and if someone under authority impresses you into service for a mile, go with him two miles. 42 Give to the one asking you, and do not turn away from one that wants to borrow from you [without interest."
(Matt. 5:43-45) "YOU heard that it was said, ‘You must love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 However, I say to YOU: Continue to love YOUR enemies and to pray for those persecuting YOU; 45 that YOU may prove yourselves sons of YOUR Father who is in the heavens, since he makes his sun rise upon wicked people and good and makes it rain upon righteous people and unrighteous. "
(1 JOhn 4:20, 21) "If anyone makes the statement: “I love God,” and yet is hating his brother, he is a liar. For he who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot be loving God, whom he has not seen. 21 And this commandment we have from him, that the one who loves God should be loving his brother also."
The Bible teaches how to treat others: Paul addresses such issues at 1 Cor. 13:1-8 reads:
4 "Love is long-suffering and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, does not get puffed up,"
5 "does not behave indecently, does not look for its own interests, does not become provoked. It does not keep account of the injury."
6 "It does not rejoice over unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth."
7 "It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."
8 "Love never fails."

let's see: adam and eve's family broken by betrayal and murder, lot's daughter nailing their drunken father, issac willing to sacrafice his own son rather than pleading to offer himself as a sacrafice first, wars, invasions, beheadings, family backstabbings, vengence killings, executions........ I'd say 50/50..
