~~~
TROY (Male - Celtic/Gaelic) meaning Water or Footsoldier
MILES (Male - Greek) meaning Soldier
~~~

~~both names mean soldier, yet both names have that wussy sound to them.... Miles makes me think of Murphy Brown, the charactor Miles Silverberg, a total wimp, so if i was to choose between the two i would pick Troy~~

Troy is a great name but you have to be big, handsome, dark and masculine to carry it off. I couldn't imagine some geeky, greasy haired, acne-faced, short-a*sed person being called Troy. Miles is good too, would suit anyone (as long as they're male!)

Miles ... I once had a boyfriend with that last name, and Troy sounds too preppy for my tastes.

To be honest I am not keen on either name.
It really depends on the surname.
Troy Smith would sound really naff.
Miles Brown ! Not much better.
