The recipe had these ingredients, but I don't know the measurements:

8 oz of cream cheese
powdered sugar (confectioners sugar)
whipped topping

I think that was all of it. I'm making a layered "ice box cake" with cake layered with the cream cheese filling, red berries, blue berries, and topped with Cool Whip.

edit: *** it was not whipped topping, it was half & half or some type of small cartoned milk or cream

i don't know the recipie but it sounds yummy
i would just mix the sugar and the cheese with a little milk to make it spread easier if it seems like it needs it

you can't go wrong with those ingredients and a white or yellow boxed cake mix

good luckj

Use 1/4 cup of real sugar instead of the confectioners sugar or go ahead and use it, it won't make any difference. Blend it with the 8 oz. of cream cheese and then gently blend in the entire container of cool whip. This will make your cream cheese filling. Make sure the cream cheese and sugar are well mixed before you blend in the cool whip topping.

Here's a similar recipe, with a few extra ingredients. It's a very creamy and mild, and won't overpower your cake or berries.

2 squares (1 oz each) white chocolate for baking
2 Tablespoons milk
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 cup thawed, frozen whipped topping

Microwave white chocolate and milk uncovered, on HIGH 1 minute; stir until smooth. Cool slightly. In a bowl, combine cream cheese and powdered sugar; mix well. Gradually stir in white chocolate mixture until smooth. Fold in whipped topping.

You can make a cream cheese filling by beating together the 8 oz. of cream cheese with 1/2 cup of powdered sugar.

The whipped topping (Cool Whip) must just be the topping and not part of the cream cheese filling.
