This may have come from WWII.
One our US Generals made a comment that when France was liberated, he felt certain that every single soldier there got laid that night.

How can you even give one second of your attention to men who spread such stupid stereotypes? Maybe you like to hear that because it make you feel superior to put down women of other nationalities... You need that because you're insecure? Are you afraid French women will get more attention than you? If a woman is comfortable with her own sexuality, she's a prostitute. If a man is, he's a stud. Double standards! That's so shallow and ignorant. What a dumb question.

You are talking to the stupid people then. People from Iraq think you get 75 virgins if you die while killing an American.
French women to most Americans are viewed as hairy armpited women with nothing but sex on their minds and the French men's only goal is to take American women to bed and move on to the next. The rest of them think French people think they are better than everyone else in the world.
Yes there are many stories from back in WW2 where you could get sex easy in France. The country of sex not country of love. And I think most Americans think French women are gross and unclean. The French male is the glory of the country.

No...partly because it's a surname (I've never heard of a French dude with Monet as a given name), but mostly because it just sounds super, super-pretentious to me. Monet is one of the small handful of artists that people who don't know much about art have heard of, so it would seem like the parents were shouting to the world, "Look how cultured and artsy we are! We named our daughter Monet!" Truly cultured people tend to be a bit more subtle when it comes to naming their children.

Whoa... I am so sorry that you've managed to speak to ignorant, chauvenistic, stupid American men. If anything, the "stereotype" I've heard of French girls is flirty, pretty, fashionable, sophisticated, and thin. *shrug* I personally don't buy into it cuz I have never met anyone from France.

THIS IS TRUE! I have no idea where this could have started. The same idea is prevalent here in Canada too.
