Can't we just agree that some people need to know who created the universe and some people simply want to know how it was created. I personally am agnostic, but if there is a God, he is a pretty darn good scientist; he created the universe, right. Sorry if I offended anyone with my previous question about IQ, but if your faith is so strong why would anyone need to resort to verbal abuse, I can't harm anyone by what I believe or don't believe. I'm just some guy sitting at his computer somewhere. To all those that answered my question as an actual noble attempt to educate me, thank you for the feed back. To those who just spew biblical rhetoric, thanks but I have read the Bible.

I do believe many True Christians are being forced to go on the defensive by the many Christaphobics on this site.

I am a Christian and I read your other question and I really wasn't offended. Unfortunitly there are a lot of really dumb Christians out there. Well not so much dumb, but like you pointed out they don't have enough faith to challenge it. I do and I God hasn't let me down. I do by the way have a 135 IQ. I do think that God gave us a brain and we should use it, not just quote our Sunday school teacher for the rest of our life because it is too scary to learn anything that might challenge our beliefs. I went to Bible College for 2 years and was shocked at how little people were willing to learn even then. I believe in the Bible and love God but I do want to smack some of my fine Christian brothern out there for being so ignorant.

On the other hand some of the athiest on here are just as antagonistic. I am enjoy good arguments, it makes me think but some people are just trying to be insulting.

Hmmmm...I would think that if someone is truly a Christian, or trying like I am to be a good one, then there would be no hostility. Christianity is about love, right? I can't quite picture Jesus verbally abusing you or anyone else and He never tried to cram any beliefs down anyone's throat as far as I can tell. If you value the truth above belief then you're more my brother than a self-proclaimed "christian" that uses their bible more
for bashing and self-righteous ranting than for learning. The last I checked, God can handle Himself and doesn't really need to be defended. I salute you for a good question and a good attitude! Keep 'em coming!

Think you answered your own question.

Some take offense to someone downgrading or questions their beliefs. Others are more grounded in their beliefs, and calmly discuss or educate you on your questions. The ones that answer irrationally obviously aren't living by their beliefs, and are only spreading negativity about those beliefs due to their behavior.

Anyone can chastize someone else's belief, but to listen and understand another person's views takes wisdom. Wisdom is what we all strive for, but few obtain it. Hope that you change your views, but that is your choice ultimately, I can only influence you to change.

I will also add the the true message of God is love. Love for your fellow man even if his beliefs are not those of your own. I believe if we all read and lived by 1 Corinthians 13, then we would all have a better life to live.

i have a friend who's Agnostic and personally i'm just glad he considers the fact that God could exist instead of just downright telling me God sucks. i feel your pain, i've met my share of Christians who are just hypocrites. i'm a Christian myself and trust me i've hated every slip of the tongue i've had. i've hated some songs i listen to. i've hated some of the books i've read but it's only because being perfect like Jesus and God is reeeally hard. why God put struggles into life is a question that can nvr be answered but here's an answer that may not be satisfying but at least somewhat, if not really, encouragble.
imagine that you are looking for a spouse, someone to love you unconditionally and you come across this for-real website and it promises you an andriod, a pretty attractive android that is the perfect spouse ever: no fighting, no imperfections, nothing is "wrong" with this perfect android spouse ... one problem is held though, this andriod is programmed to love you, even though its love for you may be unconditional can you call it real if it's programmed?
if God programmed us to obey him once we got saved it's not really the same as following him with our free will is it?
but honestly, if you can ever figure out the omniscience thing God has and how he can put that in with the free will thing too, please, and mean this not sarcastically, tell him how he does it.

A real believer is TOLERANT...so, I think that you met people who ONLY DECLARED they are Christians (they were not real believers).

This is your personal option: once - long time ago I saw an old priest on a TV show. He asked the next question:
"Can you be upset if a blind person can't see? No, maybe he would like to watch flowers and stars and all the beauty of the world. Well, he can't see...is not his fault.
Can you be upset if a deaf person can't hear? No, of course not...He would like to hear birds singing and children's laughters. Well, he can't hear, he is deaf...
CAN YOU BE UPSET IF A MAN CAN NOT BELIEVE?"

You have a really good point. There are many of us (Christians) out there who are just plain hostile and don't get it. I didn't see your first question, but too many people (not just Christians) get so hot-headed and just start going off on you. It's annoying. RELAX people! Unfortunately, the ones (Christians again) who don't know how to RELAX, give the rest of us a bad name.

No!....What you fail to realize is there is 95% of GOD Haters, Heathens, Pretenders, Atheists, Agnostics, Etc. Etc. logging on to a Religious/Spritual Site Spreading "HATE"........there are other sites if you don't agree with Biblical Truths etc.......so the evidence shows that people who don't believe that GOD Exists, Heathens, GOD Hater's, Etc Etc. Etc. are Logging Onto A Religious/Spiritual Site To Condemn, Mock, Disrespect, Harrass, Stir Up Strife, And Insult BELIEVERS!.........you people don't seem to recognize that!.....Check it out!......ps. if you hate religious/spiritual beliefs, then don't log onto to it...seek those who believe the same way you believe!.......And Stop The Complaints!.......Fair Enough!

Don't sweat it, dude. Some of my bretheren are a bit sensitive when it comes to our Christianity. They need to get a grip and realize that we can catch more flies with honey than vinegar. Soft and modest is the way. God bless you.
