Hand pick any ticks that are left. Make sure to pull them out slowly by hand or using tweezers. Any heads that stay in can cause infection. (Once they are out put them in a plastic up with dish soap and water.)
Apply vasoline or other dog approved ointment. (Dogs will lick so make sure whatever you apply is approved for them.)
The K-9 should work if it was applied to the skin and repeated every month. It should also take care of fleas.
If you find any fleas (flat black things that up close almost look like s smashed fly) try a flea bath right away.
See your vet ASAP to make sure the bumps aren't something else. You can use benadryl cream but not in very large amounts.
I wouldn't worry about the cancer someone else mentioned. I would worry about lyme disease. It can ruin your dog's quality of life.
Best of luck.

The ticks are very bad this year.
I have never seen a dog get raw from tick bites.
Are you sure she does not hve fleas?
K-9 Advantix and Frontline and those prouducts will kill the ticks. The tick attaches to feed and dies as it injests the poision from the product you used. It will be dead but these products do not keep the ticks from biting.
You could shave her it would make it easier to see the ticks and pull them. You could also then treat the skin.
There is really not much you can do. Keep her in an area where the grass has been mowed and keep her in the house more.
That is about the best thing.
Ticks areevery where this year. We have them bad here But the only ones I find on my dogs are dead I use Bio-Spot for fleas and ticks. I find them on the horses but I just pull them from them. None have gotten any raw spots or anything like that.

If the tick problem has been an ongoing thing then you might want to consider having your dog shaved and keep her that way BUT NOT UNTIL SHE'S HEALED UP. Until she's healed keep her indoors as much as possible. Take her to the vet and have them test her for Lyme Disease. If you can keep your dog shaved then ticks will be easier to see and easier for you to remove. Have your groomer use a 7F clipper blade, that way the dog's hair will be about 1/4 of an inch long (short but not bald). I live in rural Idaho and a lot of the dogs I groom are farm dogs that stay outside and we have ticks everywhere. I personally will not groom a dog that has ticks or has open sores. Water, shampoo and clippers are painful on an open sore, that's why I suggest waiting until your dog is healed and ticks, like fleas, can go from dog to dog. And yes, you can put Neosporin on the area but only if the dog can't lick it off.

An awsome and natural way to prevent ticks is GARLIC!!! Try sprinkling some dried garlic flakes on her food everyday and it will help prevent it from the inside out. I live in the bush in South Africa and was told to try this 2yrs ago after my dog contracted tick bite fever and we have not had a single tick since. In dogs garlic is also a breath freshener go figure...This works for fleas as well and as for the raw skin just keep it sterile with some salt water and do not let her lick it it won't heal otherwise

shaving her might be the smartest thing u can do for now... because thats the easiest way to make sure to clear the ticks cleanly. when you go to the vet, see if they can give u a perscription for ur collie, because if these ticks get into ur dog far enough, cancer could be right around the corner.

Forget the tick bites, where are the ticks? If they're gone, let the dog heal.
