my mother who is 62 yrs old,had urti,for which she received some homeopathy treatment.next day she developed some rash over her abdomen.the antidote was given by the doctor to the medicine,the rash subsided.but now there is a blakish discoloration over that area which is tender and over a period of time it is spreading to adjecent skin area.what it must be?and what is the remedy for that? is it something serious?it was shown to a dermatologist,who just prescribed local cream and multivits,but there is no relief.

i'd get a second opinion. there could be some serious problems. you can check your symptoms on webmd but i would go back to the doc. It sounds like gangrene to me too and you can get that even if you're not diabetic.

When your dealing with the skin, it could be a whole host of different things. My suggestion to you is to take your mother to the local hospital. Have them look at your mother. They may be of more help than the doctor you had seen.

They may recommend your mother see a different dermatologist or a completely different doctor altogether. This condition may be serious. Go to the hospital right away!

Sounds like you need to have a second opinion. Make an appointment with another dermatologist. You may want to go to the Derm Department of a teaching hospital.

Is she diabetic? Because this sounds like it could be gangrene. She needs to go to the doctor, like NOW!
