All the time!
I am 35 and was just diagnosed with bi polar last year. People I have known my whole life have told me they knew something was wrong but couldn't figure it out either.
Other people tell me "its all in your head"....my response....."yeah you're right, it is in my head....."

There is a five-year-old that goes to my church who has this disorder. He was diagnosed when we was three. He is very problematic; is mother often describes the problems he has, and although he hasn’t reached the age of which children are judged by other children, it is obvious that many kids are avoidant of him. Sometimes adults complain about him and say that he is very undisciplined, but those that know of the disorder don’t say anything and respect that he has a mental illness. Confront those that are rude to you and make it evident that you don’t appreciate their comments and that you cannot help it because you are suffering from a real mental illness. Try not to worry about what other people think, and if you aren’t already, get on some medication and try some therapy and maybe even read a book that helps Bi-Polar patients.

YES!!!! From my husband although now he is at least trying to undersatnad and be more supportive......People who don't generally deal with some type of mental illness tend to feel that people who do have some type of mental illness(depression,ect...) Are just trying to seek attention and what not,my husband has through out the past 9 years learned that, that is not the case,as he has had to go through alot with me.
I have had major depression since i was a young child which progressed into Bi-polar.It's not fun,and in most cases it's not for attention although there are some who just need a swift kick in the behind and to just simply get over themselves LOL!!!

We can be crazy if we're in a serious episode whats wrong with it?Tell the person who thinks he's so ''normal'' to shut his mouth and tell him everybody including the ones who have no diagnosis can act like crazy cause there's a thin line between madness and normal state..They think the line is so thick tho...Duhh!...
