Depends how the former tooth was lost . If the underlying tooth caused it to loosen and fall out then 1-6months would be normal . If the baby tooth was extracted because of decay it could be several months longer . If the "baby tooth" was in fact a decayed 1st permanent molar as is often the case then no replacement tooth is there. And lastly if the replacement tooth is impacted i.e stuck in the bone for some reason, then it can't erupt normally without treatment

it depends on which tooth has exfoliated. the primary dentition consists of 20 teeth n each teeth has a different time of exfoliation n different time of eruption depending on wat tooth is it. n the eruption n exfoliation dates may not b the same for all child n a tooth may drop out for various reasons. the eruption of a tooth would b fast if the deciduous had exfoliated naturally due to resorption of the roots as the permanent tooth is pushing its wat out. but eruption of the permanent tooth may b delayed if its impacted or the deciduous had dropped out or had been extracted prematurely. as a parent, its gud to seek the advice of ur dentist as an answer cant be given without taking a look at ur child's condition.
