They are produced what a flower's ovary gets pollinated. Then it grows, gets material from plant sap and builds tissues.
What for? fruits are storage units for seeds, which are next generation for the plant species.
Predators play a major role in fruit form and function and are primary seed dispersors.
If the zone is dessertic, what animals need the most is water, so you have watery fruits, like MELLON, WATER MELLON, CACTUS FRUITS, ETC.
In jungles water is a surplus, so fruits tend to have oils and meaty structure, like AVOCADOS, GUAVAS, MANGOS.
Also In places where there's a lot of wind, fruits are dry and woody, in the shape of a wing and thus seeds fly away.

in botanical terms, fruit is the ripened fertilised ovary. In general we use this term-fruit very much vaguely. Fruits like mango, cherry etc are true fruits. But if you take an apple as a fruit whatever we eat is not a fruit but it is a thickened fleshy thalamus (base of the flower). Like wise there are many examples where along with mature ovary &/or seeds many other flower parts are also called as fruit.
When fertilization of egg in the ovule takes place the ovule develops in to seed and teh ovary in to fruit.

Botanically speaking, fruit is the enlarged ovary, grown out to protect and nourish the seed after fertilization, or in specialized plants to transport or attract a distributing animal. By this definition, tomatoes, pumpkins, and even corn, all traditionally considered to be vegetables are actually fruits. The tassles on grasses are also truly fruits, even though you probably would never eat one

When sperm and egg unite within a plant, it grows into a seed. The ovary of said plant contains all the fertilized eggs (seeds) and will ultimatley form into a fruit. When you eat said fruit, you spit the seeds out. Hopefully, the seed will land in the soil and start the process all over again.

Fruits?!? Well, fruits are things you eat like: bannanas, strawberries, grapes, melons, bannanas etc.....UNLESS you are speaking of the slang term for fruits in which that would be a whole other subject LOL. Fruits as a slang term is a gay person: (women who like women) or (men who like men).
