Depends upon moisture content and application. A reasonable value for poisson's ratio for a C24 softwood would be v = 0.34.
The shear modulus is G= E/[2(1+v ))
E min for C24, not in load sharing or laminated form, 7200N/mm2.
So G = 2686 N/mm2

For most materials, G is between E/3 and E/2
