Christians always say that Jesus died a horribly painful death. How do we know that it wasn't just an act? How do we know God wasn't constantly filling Jesus's veins with morphine?

Why don't you ask why anyone would worship the vehicle of such horrible suffering.

I really don't get that about Christians, myself. And when you ask them about it you usually get a blank stare, or some old tired dogmatic answer that means nothing and doesn't answer your question either.

Funny, I never thought about a dose of "Divine" morphine, but it works for me.

Interesting idea...however, since you believe that God could have been filling Jesus' veins with morphine, it doesn't make any sense that a God that powerful would bother to lie to the very people He created and sent His son to save from the punishment due their sins, does it? So, since all through the Old Testament, the Chosen One, Messiah, Redeemer is prophesied about as having to suffer, it seems pretty reasonable that suffer He did.

He suffered more than you and I could ever imagine.....and the pain was not just physical......it was the pain of the soul,it was the pain of all those doomed to eternal destruction, it was a pain for all those who were in pain, it was not just the wooden cross, but the cross of all our sinfulness........he bore the pain of abandonment which should actually have been ours..........

And no, God did not fill his veins with morphine, and did not have to do that If Jesus only willed, he could have come out of it all himself; he suffered because he wanted to; and God let him suffer; because it was his will; and God wouldnt do anything that would be contrary to his own will.

His suffering, death and resurrection was the only way; you and I could be saved

I'm sure the physical pain he suffered was the same if not even less then other totured men and women throughout history. The worst part of His suffering came from the seperation he experienced from The Father when taking upon himself the sin of the world. People die in pain every day but not everyone has the sin of all mankind for all time on their shoulders. It's a bit overwhelming when you think of it.
Nope, no morphine.

What an imagination you have. If you believe Jesus died the way it says in the Bible having someone hammer nails into your hands probably hurt just a tad. God & morphine? If you believe in God I don't think he really needed morphine. LOL LOL

Try thinking of it this way… Let’s try seeing it from His viewpoint, with all due respect. You’re the Son of God and up to this point in eternity, You’ve never experienced ANY pain. Then, Daddy says You’re taking a trip to Earth for awhile, but as a man. You get born and go through all the normal pains of life - getting hungry, circumcision (that’s “OUCH…!” to you guys out there), stubbing Your toe, etc. Well, You never do anything wrong in Your entire life… So far, so good. Then, You start telling everyone about God and how He loves us, but we’re such knuckleheads that we only get bits and parts of it. Some do and some don’t. Well, You go on to tell them that God is Your Daddy and they get upset with that and get You crucified. Even as they’re nailing you to the cross, You respond by asking Daddy to forgive them. So, You’re up there hanging on through the pain and then Daddy shows up and unleashes His fury on You for all the sins that have been and will ever be committed in this world. Then, He leaves You alone… You cry out, “My God, My God…! Why have You forsaken Me…?!” You die from a broken heart...

Love held nails to a tree.

The tomb was found empty 3 days later. For Jesus, it went from “Know more pain.” to “No more pain.” We all could stand a bit of that, huh? Spread the love...

First off, if you read the passage in the Word, you would know that He died for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities. Tell me this, could you be nailed to a tree with the equivalent to railroad spikes, mind you the tree was like rough cedar so I'm sure major splinters involved. Then hang there until death, while having a crown of thorns rammed into your head. Then to make sure your dead, then pierce your side with a spear.

Where you get off asking if GOD supplied Him with morpheine?? God sent Him here to be as a human to die for yours and my sins, and you repay Him by asking such a question. I pity the fool that stands before Him on Judgement day, hanging their heads in shame, and being told that their name is not in the Lamb's Book of Life. Believe or not believe, that's your choice. Don't make the wrong one, as for the penalties are great, and everlasting.

Jesus didn't die. he didn't suffer either. Jesus was replaced with another person and the Jews crucified him instead. Jesus was lifted up to the heavens. Jesus is still alive, body and all and he will come back down when the Antichrist is on earth. Jesus will kill him then live on earth for a period of time then die.

If you were taking the blame for every sin in the past present and future(that''s quite a bit) don't you think it would be real?! Jesus died for every sin of every sinner in all time. I think Jesus suffered> If this can't change your mind, I don't know what can.

Because God would not lie. He came down in the flesh and went through that so when we are suffering from smaller things that He knows how we feel.
