ali fought many great fighters and a couple of them had just as much power is tyson. frasier's left hook was not only powerful but it was extremly accurate. plus he had a good jab a ring generalship. plus he was 3 inches taller and had bout 15 punds on tyson and frasier could also take one hell of a punch. now all this add together and frasier beat ali only once. plus your talking about prime and ali was not in his prime when he fought frasier. he fought frasier, foreman, and and rest of those great fight after his suspension. he lost 3 years of his prime.
in his prime (when he won the heavy wieht title of the wold) he beat a fight who would have take tyson out in the 1st round. not only could liston take a punch at the time he was considered one on the most dangerous men inthe world. with all that sonny still cheated and put a chemical into ali's eyes and he could not see for most of the 7 round. so if sli could avoid the fast and hard punching of sonny liston blind for one round then i didn't think he would have a problem beating tyson.
so for my answer tyson even in his prime never had the ability to beat ali in his prime.

Not a chance. Tyson was easily the most *powerful* boxer the world has ever known, but he had no stamina or specific strategy. Anyone who could avoid the worst of his swings for the first 3 rounds gained a very significant chance of beating him. Ali was the best at playing the strategy game in the ring and would have studied him long before the fight. He'd have danced around him as long as he needed to and then taken him by surprise 5 or 6 rounds in.
This isn't to say Ali could never be beaten, I just believe that a number of the greatest fighters who ever lived would've beaten Tyson in his prime. Like I said... all power, no strategy.

Ali was way to fast. Sure, Tyson packs a punch, but someone has to be on the receving end for it to count. Ali would have toyed with Tyson to a point Tyson would have lost his cool and then received a Ali courtesy punch. Lights out for Tyson. He's washed up and made a a** of himself with his below standard tactics....

Tyson was a street fighter. Ali has science. Ali woudl have made short work of Tyson. Tyson's abilty to move was stiff, Ali danced through the ring like a master, there will never be another Ali. He WAS boxing.

They are both great fighters, but Tyson wouldn't have had a chance. Ali was too fast and too evasive to get hit by Tyson. He would have known how to out box Tyson, hands down, Ali would win. But what a fight that would have been to see. Damn, if only....

Here's a second for
No, No, AND hell NO! If they fought 10 times Ali would win all ten..
Power vs Ali? - Oh yee of short memory...There were those that were worried George Foreman might literally kill Ali during their first fight...LOL....Tyson was beaten in his prime by a no-name boxer who simply fought a smart fight...

In Tyson's prime he was a hell of a puncher, and could take one too.
Ali was the better boxer. It would have been very similar to Forman and Ali. Tyson could knock anyone out with one punch. But he could easily be out boxed too.
I think it would be one of those epic one fighter wins one the other the next...

I am too young to have seen Ali fight. But I think Tyson was way to fast and powerful for just about anybody during his heyday. Plus he could have bit Ali's ear right off if it came down to it.

No, I don't think Tyson could knock Ali out and he couldn't out point him once they started getting in the later rounds.

It would be a good fight, but Ali would win by his speed and power punches. If you see Tyson's past fight you could see he is a power puncher. Ali would make him tired.
