It depends on the percentage.
1% is used for cuts, scraps or just to gargle
20% is used to bleech hair and strip color out of a hair folicle.
And could be poision if you used it for a mouth wash.
Read the label carefully before using it.

My dentist used it after scaling and polishing when your gums bleed alittle. She only used a cotton ball soaked with the solution and clean the gums area. Personal view is try not to use it too often as I soaked a tooth in Hydrogen Peroxide before, the tooth turn paper white after 1 day. Not sure if it's too strong?

Some literature suggests hydrogen peroxide used frequently may be carcinogenic to oral tissues ,so for frequent use try diluted salt water with a little baking soda in it ,or a commercial mothwash

It is safe, It taste nasty but is okay. The dentist reccomended this for my mother who is a diabetic, to help with her teeth..
