Most atheist were monotheistic to begin with but lost their belief because they couldnt handle what goes on in their life (death, poverty, etc)
and I tell everyone that God wouldnt ever give them anything they couldnt handle, but they seem to contradict me...what do you think?

Yes, this is very true for me. When I am in that moment of stress and disappointment and my faith is being tested it can be hard. But after all is said and done and I've come out of the situation I can look back and learn from it and see how God was intevening on my behalf. Just because he says he won't give us anything we can't handle it doesn't mean everything we get will be easy.

This is so true God does not give us more that we can handle. When you are going through the trails it may seem like a lot, but when you have come out on the other end you see that is was not more than you can handle, because through it all God was holding your hand.

I think you don't know what you're talking about. Most atheists are Buddhists. In the west, about half the atheists are former Christians.

Of those that are, many/most lost faith for intellectual reasons. Of those that did lose faith for emotional reasons, so what? If you're basing your beliefs on faith, emotioanl arguments are all you have anyway.

But, it certainly isn't true that no-one ever has a situation they can't handle. If it were, no-one would die.

Well, there's just no accounting for natural selection, is there?

My personal belief is that suicide is a permanent solution for temporary problems.

Maybe these tests god sometimes subjects individuals to is to determine, or "weed out" those who might be unacceptable candidates for heaven. There are people in this life who do enjoy being miserable, and unfortunately, sometimes other people get sucked into that.

You could think about it like that, I suppose.

First-I don't know if most atheist were monotheistic to begin with or not. If they were, the believed in the wrong god or they could not turn from him.
Second-God's promise was to keep us from being tempted beyond our human power. That promise deals with temptations not events.

I think it is true for me, and in a round-about way. I think how one handles things they cannot handle is the key. I find I can handle anything with the help of others who my god works through. The athiests have to find something to blame.

God does not give us any more than we can handle because with Him all things are possible!!!!! If He gave us more than we could handle there would be no point in a relationship with Him because He is the source of our strength. All things work together for good to them who trust Him. Proverbs 3:5,6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thy own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He will direct thy paths.

I agree with you. I've had some rough patches, asked for intercession and have survived. I was glad to have a rock to cling to even when it seemed things wouldn't get better.

I think that's why the term, "Keep the Faith" is still around-your tribulations make you wiser, stronger and closer to God.

i am going to admit there have been cases in my existence after I did not imagine i became going to make it. There have even been cases I felt like God wasn't round--like He became going to make me verify my personal way out of the mess i'd gotten myself into. yet, even as it became all stated and finished, i realized He became there all alongside. He does comprehend what we may be able to address and what we are able to not. imagine of Him as a coach who keeps pushing because He knows you may do it. this is no longer continually consumer-friendly. yet you'd be an exceptional individual once you triumph over inspite of that is God is seeing you by.

Most atheists were either raised as atheists or questioned the idea of God when they became educated... that makes tehrest of your question irrelevant.
