I've been saying the same thing for years. I want to buy some land by the the ocean there but their government won't let me.

That would be a good idea. I am with you all the way. I bet alot of people don't even realize for those you drive Volkswagen's, there is a plant near Puebla, how do they feel about that? Alot of textiles come from Mexico. Has anyone ever thought about if Mexico cut all it's ties with the US? They are too close and if they wanted they could probably get some allies against us. It wouldn't be that hard. The immigration issue does not just pertain to Mexico.

Perhaps you should consult a history textbook.
A word from the wise (or, rather, educated): Use an American History text to look up "War Hawks."
There was a time in our history (nearly two centuries ago) when American expansion was considered limitless. This ideology of self-deserving annexation was often referred to as Manifest Destiny. (A specific instance that proposed the annexation of Cuba received the title: Ostend Manifesto.)
While that is less interesting, what is more interesting is that in a time of international and global relations that have complexified to a point requiring such sensitivity that every word of rhetoric must first be scrutinized by scores of governmental agencies--what is most interesting is that, while in this climate, you propose the solution to all our problems can be found upon a page in the history of American jingoism.
Should you wish to replace foreign policy with testosterone, please contact me so I can raise an army up against you.

Yes! But the more politically correct way to handle it would be to buy it (on credit), or trade them our politicians for land. In the interim, we could solve this whole border issue by imposing and enforcing the same immigration laws that Mexico has. I know that's too simple for our politicians, but it works for Mexico.

Oh hell no! HELL no! Think of all the welfare recipients being added to the already overburdened system. Think of all those people screaming about health care. Think of the leftist tree huggers screaming about making the US government pay to clean the place up?
Not just a no, but an emphatic OH HELL NO!
Then again....they do have alot of oil...

As long as they know who's going to run the show :)
We sure aren't going to let them keep running a corrupt, socialist government and send all of their 80% poverty stricken population across the border to pick our grapes.
Annex, yes...as a 51 state

It would benefit Mexico, but there'd be too much bureaucracy involved.
