it depends,does she have partial custody, or just no rights what so ever?

Yes, you still rights even if you have to go to court to establish them. The courts always like the child to be with parents if possible. So if you gave up guardianship (which is only temporary custody) and now want the child back, then there is still a good chance of getting them back unless you are unfit.

it depends. why did she give up the baby and did she just abandon the baby in the street or something harsh like that? if not, and she had a really good reason like she couldn't afford to take good care of the baby and had no fmaily help then she should have at least some say in the life of the baby. especially if that's agreed between the new guardians and the mom. i'm pretty sure that could be part of guardianship now. lol.

If you give up guardianship you're giving up your right as a parent.
You're saying you can't or won't care for your child
