americans keep blaming mexicans for the gangs when i was a child we didn't even know that gangs could exist then many people headed north and brauth nack the gangsta stlye from america

A gang is 3 or more ...grouped together for safety, the benefit of the other two and at the expense of all others.
It's a human thang. Been going on since the dawn of civilization. A tribe cuold be considered a gang, except that they are a tribe by virtue of their proximate birth orientation. A gang is constructed by choice and is generally, as the term is used, outside of the laws of the culture or accusing civilization.
Mexicans hardly invented gangs. As in many other current situations, the Mexicanos came up here and "borrowed" the concept from US Americans.
I suspect it happened cuz the Afro Americans, who had their gang thang going on big time, were beating down the Hispanics out of competition for "terf" (neighborhoods and the latins got together in gangs to protect their own.
The concept of gangs as we are discussing them, are outside of the law and that's why they are such a problem.
Just like Illegal Immigration is outside the law.

I know there were gangs in the 1920's but I don't know their origin. The difference though is that in the 20's gangs were more organized and somewhat professional in the way they dressed and lived and to some extent there was a certain glamour about it whereas now most gangs are minority and are usually lowlifes that dress lilke bums and act more random in their violence. They are definitely a lower class of people since they have become more ethnic.

Gangs have been around as long as Man has been alive. No one race of people invented gangs.The way gangs behave today, is because of the general breakdown of society.

EX: Parents have to be afraid to discipline their kids these days because of fear of being reported. The promotion of gang style life through Hip Hop Music etc.

Gangs are invented by those political parties who were extremist too much...actually when people start to live anywhere together so they usually try to make themselves strong by any means so that other territory person could not attack on them and threat on them but when this sense of care enhance offensively or horribly then it becomes change into gangs. We can't blame any country for this, but we can blame in one case that why people adopt this thing in negative way. They have rights to make political parties but only for safety of the nation not for make people scared.

I don't know where they started, although it was typically amongst immigrant groups here. I do know that when we deported gang members from here to El Salvador those gang members (who had come illegally but had joined preexisting gangs) really contributed to creating the El Salvador gang problem that exists today. Then those 'nastier' El Salvadorean gangs such as M13 came here.
