Sorry, but the salon is the best route that you can go. If you buy any hair dye in the grocery store which is a strawberry blonde, it will lighten your daughters dark brown and dark blonde tones and most likely turn them orange. Also, because her hair is several different shades, a stylist will be able to help her make sure she has consistent color throughout her hair.

When you have a line of demarcation ( a line with one end being one color and other side being a different color) it is hard to make it all match. Just because you put a color on all of the hair does not mean that it will all come out the same. This is tricky enough for professional hairstylists to do much less on your own with no training. My suggestion is that if the salon is to expensive go to the Cosmetology School. You will get a huge discount and all services are supervised my a licensed Cosmetologist/Instructor.

I can say from experience that you are headed for disaster if you are trying to go from a dark shade to any type of blonde color. Try using a glze instead to add sublte shades of red. Or use a lowlights coloring kit. That way you only dye some of the hair and touch ups won't be as necessary. Dying from dark to light is risky at home and will require very fredquent touch ups.

Not going to a Solon is asking for disaster, you have the chances of producing ORANGE hair, or super red hair NOT what your looking for. Just go to a salon and ask for a consultation then you can ask pricing then, hey here's a thought, have her save some money and make her help pay for it!!!!!

You would have to bleach her hair, and them mix certain colors together to get the color you want. Go to a salon. They will know what colors to put in her hair.
DO NOT USE SUN-IN IT WILL FRY YOUR HAIR. ITS SOME OF THE WORST STUFF YOU COULD BUT IN YOUR HAIR 4 HIGH LITES.

you need to bleach your hair and then after a few days put on the dye. I suggest you go to a salon with professionals to bleach your hair because if you do it on your own at home, you can damage your hair pretty badly.

I agree...you'll have to lightly bleach her hair, then dye over the top...a salon will make sure it doesn't mess up first time...then you could do follow up colourings at home
