I have cold sores, and I do not recommend abreva. It takes too long to work. I use zilactin and it helps heal cold sores faster than any other medication I've used. You can buy at your local pharmacy and it's half the price of abreva. You should also try "Lysine" (vitamins) pills that help prevent cold sores. I drink one a day and I haven't gotten a cold sore in over six months!

if you have frequent cold sores, try taking olive leaf. I get mine from GNC stores.
I have had problems with them for years. Now I never get them. I take one 500 mg tablet a day.

Buy Abreva from the drugstore. It's about $14.00 a tube, by the lip balms. Good stuff.
