What is this about? Beer drinking last night and today a red blotch face looks almost like a few broken blood vessels, and speckled in tiny tiny dots- anyone with experience with this?? Resources appreciated! TIA

Its not me- I don't drink because I WOULD fall into a nettle bush. Poor thing went to a party for fourth of July and wakes up looking like a strawberry! Its not like rosacia and its not like poisened ivy- its like a combination of broken blood vessels and sunburn- speckled- up- strange really!!

Yes, that is what happens, dialation leads to broken vessels.
Think sausage nose, that is the road you are headed down.

This isn't something that just comes up. It's a sign that you enjoy Alcohol far too much as it's from an accumulation of Alcohol over time. Not to say your are an Alcoholic but at this point it's controlling you and not the opposite and unless you get a handle on it and cut back for a while you'll have that problem continue and others will see it as well and know what it comes from. Take it as a RED Stop sign to re-evaluate your drinking frequency and you should see those spots diminish as your frequency of alcohol diminishes but it won't happen overnight just as the presence didn't happen overnight. Just an opinion not a judgement as the opinion is based not upon you, who I don't know, but based upon friends I have known a long time and I just hope it doesn't apply to you but if it does then please consider the warning signs for nothing good follows.

I get red and blotchy too. MY fiance says that is how he can tell when I am buzzed/drunk. :) I m not allergic to alcohol - It just the alcohol in my system and the dehydration in my body. I drink water to help out. I like the blushy look! oh and I am half asian I am mexican from my dad and white and korean from my mom :) To the person who just mentioned that. Do not know if it is a link, but I am asian.

Broken veins
Alcohol dilates blood vessels near the surface of the skin, causing ugly red capillaries or veins, especially around the nose and cheeks.
