It may take two people, one to hold the mouth open, one to "shoot" the medicine out of the syringe down the throat. I know it souns mean, but I did it for 2 years, twice a day. Gotta do it.

Well, as long as your dog is loving and trusting of you, I think you're best bet is to try to put the syringe as far back in the corner of his mouth while you gently hold his head slightly upwards. Other than that, I don't know. If all else fails, call your vet and let them know what the story is. Hope this is of some help. Good luck!

Put it in a very small amount of water. The dog should then lap it all up without losing any of the medicine. This is what i was told to do by the vet when i couldnt get my cat to take its medicine

The conformation of a dogs mouth makes this easy for us!
Right at the end of his mouth, that is the side, the skin is very pliable and soft. Just lift his lip up, tilt his head back and drizzle the liquid in. If you tickle his larynx (adams apple) at the same time he has no choice but to swallow. Just be gentle with him. It's easier with two people.

If that were my dog I would take him back to the vet and get them to show you how to do it. Obviously you can do it; (otherwise they wouldn't have said so). If you choose not to go back, then just call them anyway and tell them what you just told us and I would hope they'd be willing and happy to help you. He does need to eat and take his medicine, so do it right away!!!!!!!!!!! Good Luck.

If it is a pill, get a piece of meat and wrap the meat around the pill. If it is not a pill then you should have been more specific. Otherwise good luck!
