Yes we can and do. Our office regularly delivers duffel bags of stuff that people are shipping home. As long as they weigh under 70lbs.

They probably could, but they won't. Unless of course you were to pack it up inside of a very large carton. Seems silly because if you were to travel on an airliner you'd likely check the duffel which is gonna' ride in the cargo hold of the aircraft anyway right next to the mail. Go figure.
